Blood testing
The truth is in your blood — if somebody orders the right test.
Every protocol starts here. A near-painless at-home draw measures 30 biomarkers across 6 systems, including the reproductive hormones a standard annual panel leaves out.

How the test works
Lab-grade results, from your kitchen table.
We ask about your cycle
So the kit arrives in the window where your hormone results will actually mean something.
Kit arrives
A guided collection kit ships to your door with everything you need.
Collect and mail back
A near-painless device makes self-collection simple; the prepaid package goes straight to a CLIA-certified lab.
Results in days
Your full panel — analysed and explained — lands in your Aethera app.
What we measure
30 markers across 6 systems.
The hormone block is the one a standard annual panel skips — and the one that most often explains what brought you here.
Timing is part of the test.
If you are still cycling, FSH, LH and estradiol are drawn in the early follicular window, and progesterone in the luteal phase. If your cycle has stopped or is unpredictable, or you are on hormonal contraception, your physician interprets the panel differently — and the app records which applied.
Optimal, not just normal
“Normal” is a low bar, and it was not set on you.
Standard reference intervals are built to flag disease, from populations that were not stratified by cycle stage. We interpret your results against your own previous results and against the ranges our physicians use for your age and stage.
- Every marker scored against your age and stage, not just “in range”
- Trends tracked across the retest allowance on your plan
- Plain-language guidance on what each result means

Coming soon
Four more questions, answered at home.
These are not going into the panel. They are four separate tests a member will be able to order to her home when she and her physician want a question answered that the standard panel does not reach. Each one is diagnostic testing, ordered and read the same way everything else here is.

Bone turnover panel
Is my bone loss accelerating right now?
A DXA scan measures how much bone you have. These two markers measure how fast you are building and breaking it down today, which is a question DXA cannot answer for another one to two years. Bone loss is fastest in the first years around the final period — the window where waiting for a scan to change costs the most.
- What it measures
- P1NP and beta-CTX
- How it is collected
- Drawn at home by a mobile phlebotomist, early morning, fasting.
Coeliac serology
Is this why my iron will not hold?
Coeliac disease is one of the commonest causes of iron deficiency that keeps coming back, and it also turns up behind unexplained fatigue, low bone density for your age and difficulty conceiving. The standard panel already measures your ferritin. It has never asked why. Total IgA is measured alongside because without it a deficient result reads as a negative one.
- What it measures
- tTG-IgA with total IgA
- How it is collected
- Fingerstick, or drawn at home by a mobile phlebotomist.
Liver fibrosis assessment
Is there scarring behind my metabolic picture?
Fatty liver disease is common, usually silent, and more common in women after menopause. FIB-4 is the first-line score guidelines ask for, and the standard panel cannot compute it — it has ALT but no AST and no platelet count. Where the score is not clearly reassuring, we reflex to a second test rather than leaving you in the grey zone the first one is known for.
- What it measures
- FIB-4, with reflex to ELF
- How it is collected
- Drawn at home by a mobile phlebotomist.
Omega-3 Index
Did the fish oil actually do anything?
This is the one test on this page you can do entirely yourself: one drop of blood on a card, dried, posted back. It reports where your omega-3 status actually sits rather than what the label on the bottle says. We grade it emerging and we mean it — the target range is a surrogate drawn from observational data, and much of the validating work comes from the laboratory that sells the assay. It tells you something real about your intake. It is not proof of a health outcome.
- What it measures
- EPA and DHA in red blood cells
- How it is collected
- A dried blood spot you collect yourself and post back.
When "coming soon" ends
None of these can be ordered yet. They are announced here because we would rather tell you what is being built than surprise you with it, and because two of the four depend on a mobile phlebotomist being available where you live. We will say so on this page, plainly, on the day each one opens.
One we are not going to offer
Members ask about the multi-cancer blood tests. We are not going to offer one. They are not approved, the published performance in early-stage disease is poor, and a reassuring result from a test that misses most early cancers is worse than no test at all. Screening healthy women for cancer is a decision for her own physician against national guidance, not a product on a menu.
Every protocol requires a baseline panel so your physician can prescribe from your labs.
