Getting started
What exactly am I buying?
A membership. It covers your 30-marker panel, the Aethera app, marketplace access, and coordination of your physician reviews with the independent physician network. Treatments are separate — each protocol is its own monthly subscription, and only a physician can prescribe one.
Why do you ask about my cycle?
Because a hormone result with no cycle day attached is close to meaningless. FSH, LH, oestradiol and progesterone swing enormously across a cycle, so we time the kit to the window where the result answers your actual question. If your cycle has stopped or is unpredictable, or you are on hormonal contraception, we record that and your physician interprets the panel accordingly.
Do I have to get bloodwork?
Yes. Every protocol requires a baseline panel, because a physician cannot responsibly dose you without your numbers. Your first panel is included in membership.
Is there an age requirement?
Yes. Aethera Women's Lab is for adults 21 and over. The panel and the Learning Center are designed for women roughly 35 and up, but the service is open to any adult the physician network can lawfully treat.
Cost and billing
What does it cost?
Essentials is $89 a month, Optimizer $129, and Elite $229. Every protocol is available on every plan; a higher tier buys more testing. Treatments are billed separately.
Can I add extra panels?
Order one whenever you need it. A standard panel is $229 and an advanced panel is $429, on any tier.
Is it HSA or FSA eligible?
Your blood panels and physician reviews may be. The membership fee, app access and medications generally are not, and medication eligibility depends on your individual diagnosis. Check with your plan administrator.
Do you take insurance?
No. Aethera is cash-pay. We do not bill insurance or Medicare and we are not an in-network provider. You may be able to use HSA or FSA funds for eligible items.
How do I cancel?
In the app, or by email, anytime. Cancellation is effective through the moment of the next charge. We never require a phone call.
Care and prescribing
Who actually prescribes my treatment?
An independently licensed physician. Aethera Women's Lab is not a medical provider and does not practise medicine — we operate the platform and coordinate the logistics. The physician who reviews your labs makes every clinical decision, including whether to prescribe at all.
What if a physician says no?
That happens, and it is the system working. A physician may determine that a treatment is not appropriate for you. Membership does not include or guarantee any treatment. You keep your panel, your results and your review either way.
I am trying to conceive. Can I still join?
Yes — for the panel and the preconception work, which is genuinely useful: thyroid, TPO antibodies, iron, vitamin D, B12, folate and HbA1c all matter before pregnancy. But most hormone and peptide therapy is contraindicated while trying to conceive, during pregnancy and while breastfeeding. Tell your physician, and expect the honest answer to be that the protocol stops.
Do you treat infertility?
No. We measure ovarian-reserve and preconception markers, explain what they mean and what they cannot tell you, and refer. Fertility treatment, including IVF, belongs with a reproductive endocrinologist or your OB-GYN.
Are these medications FDA-approved?
Compounded drugs are not FDA-approved and have not been evaluated by FDA for safety or effectiveness. They are prepared for an individual patient by a licensed 503A compounding pharmacy on a physician’s prescription. Approved products exist for much of what is prescribed here, and where one fits it is usually the better answer.
Can I keep my own doctor?
Yes, and you should. Aethera is not a replacement for primary care, for your OB-GYN, or for age-appropriate screening including mammography and cervical screening. Share your panel with them — it is your record, and we make it easy to export.
Availability and privacy
Where is Aethera available?
Care is delivered through the partner physician network, licensed in 44 states and Washington, D.C.. Availability depends on the state you are located in and may change. We check your state at signup before you are charged.
Why is the site in Hindi?
Because Miami and the wider US have a large South Asian population, and health information that only exists in English is health information a lot of people cannot use. The entire site is published in English, Spanish and Hindi — not a machine pass over the English, but written in each language.
What happens to my health data?
It is protected health information and it stays with your care. It is encrypted in transit and at rest, access is role-restricted, and we do not sell it or push it to advertising platforms. The HIPAA Notice sets out your rights over it.
Does the AI see my medical data?
The intelligence engine organises your biomarkers so a physician can review them together. Ana, the in-app concierge, handles account, shipping and schedule questions and provides general educational information. It does not diagnose, prescribe or change treatment — it connects you to your physician, who does.
